Our operations and communications manager, Philip Jones, passed away unexpectedly in August of 2019.

Philip was a vivacious, joyful coworker and friend and we are deeply affected by his loss. Philip was born in London and moved to America for college, and eventually became an American citizen. He was active in the Yarmouth community, serving on the school board, and was a past president of the Merrill Memorial Library. He had an abiding and deep-rooted love for history and preservation, and his family resides in an historic house in Yarmouth. He is survived by his wife, Mary, and two children.

The family requests that donations be made in his name to a cause that you care about. Maine Preservation has established the Philip Jones Advocacy Fund in his honor and you may contribute by clicking the donation button below or contacting our office. Or, you may donate to the Merrill Memorial Library in Yarmouth or the “Our House II” campaign, https://www.yarmouthourhouse2.com/

He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
